Welcome to PRO-MAPP (Part of PRO-MAPP)

The PRO-MAPP ecosystem is a collection of tools that allow for the completion and management of online medical surveys and PROMs.

Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) assess the quality of care delivered to patients from the patient perspective. PROMs calculate the health gains after surgical treatment using pre-operative and post-operative surveys. PROMs measure a patient’s health status or health-related quality of life at a single point in time, and are collected through short, self-completed questionnaires. This health status information is collected before and after a procedure and provides an indication of the outcomes or quality of care delivered to patients.

Paper based PROMs have been collected in the NHS since April 2009. This information is collated at a national level for annual publication.

PROMs data are available at: http://www.hscic.gov.uk/proms

The PRO-MAPP ecosystem enhances this process in a number of ways.

·         The PRO-MAPP information is collected electronically and is compatible with most personal computers, tablets and smart phones.

·         Because of the wide range of devices that support PRO-MAPP, the information can be collected in the comfort of your own home, prior to visiting your doctor or surgery.

·         Because the information is collected electronically, it can be instantly made available to your health care professionals. There is no need to wait for paper copies to be passed between departments.
